One of the policy decisions in. the UGC XIth Plan provides for establishing Career and Counseling Cell in Universities. The objective is to support the students in the development of soft skills and communication ability to challenge the rigors of competitive tests and on-job-training in add-on or vocational courses. In view of the above, the Career and Counseling Cell of Rajiv Gandhi University is established with the appointment of its Coordinator on 2nd June, 2011.
The activities of the cell during 2018-19 are as follows:
Progress Report Career Counselling Cell :
The Career Counseling Cell (CCC) started on 21st August 2012 with an objective to set up an educational counseling services offered for the post-graduate students of Rajiv Gandhi University with the aim to help the students redefine their passion in their career, develop essential employability skills and strategies and to understand different competitive examination related to job opportunities in current market scenario. Career Counseling Cell has organized 9 Skill-based training programme under the expert professionals and resource persons invited from the state as well as national level. In the last 7 years the Cell has emerged as a prominent service provider in Vocational training and Skill development sector more than 6000 students have been benefitted from the programme and placement of more than 2000 students in various Private and Government sectors of Arunachal Pradesh. Keeping in view the aspirations of students and parents of Arunachal Pradesh, the University has taken a strong initiative for organizing various programmes time to time in the university and as a result of which university does ensure high quality education with better job avenues for the better products of our university students after completion of their formal degrees.
Workshop Training on Aptitude, Soft Skills and Career Counselling was organized by CCC from May 4-6, 2018:
Three (3) Day Workshop Training on Aptitude, Soft Skills and Career Counselling Under Career Counselling Cell, RGU was organized in Collaboration with Career Launcher, New Delhi in the department of Education from 4th-6th May, 2018. Prof. Tomo Riba, Registrar, RGU was the Chief Patron of the Programme. Mr. Karthik Raja from Tamil Nadu was the Resource Person for the programme. Dr. Boa Reena Tok was the Programme Coordinator. The Main objective of the workshop was to train the Post-graduate students of Rajiv Gandhi University to face various competitive examinations, confident building in interviews in various companies and government sectors. There were 10 skill based practical sessions. Around 50 participants (Annexure 2.1) from various departments attended such important programme. Modules handouts materials were based on Soft Skills quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability for campus recruitment such as (a) Reading comprehensive and critical reasoning, (c) Grammar and Vocabulary building, and (d) Data arrangements and logical reasoning.
Employability Skills and Career Counselling:
A Two-Day Workshop 29-30 April, 2019 on Employability Skills and Career Counselling organized by Career Counselling Cell (RGU) in collaboration with Career Launcher, New Delhi began today in the department of Education at RGU. The Programme was graced by Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor, R.G.U. as the Chief Patron of the Programme, Prof. Tomo Riba, Registrar, R.G.U., Professor Kesang Degi, Dean, DSW, RGU, Amit Dhar as the Resource Person, Career Launcher, New Delhi, Rahul Kumar Basak, Career Launcher, New Delhi, Prof. Tasi Kaye, In charge, Placement Cell, RGU., Dr. Boa Reena Tok, Coordinator.
